history

The Ilgenhalle, built in 1851, was built in the Swiss style, which is reflected in the flat gable roof and the openwork decorations of the complex. The Ilgenhalle was built at the wedding of the spa, when the well doctors advised their patients to take many walks, which required an infrastructure in the form of observation and protective pavilions.

Vielmetter's calm bench .

The name is derived from the corridor on which it is located and to which the nearby Ilgenwiese also belongs. The oldest known trace of the name can be found as "Ilgenberg" in an inventory plan of the forest district Klausenhof from 1833. The name Ilgen or Eligius is derived from the church that was consecrated to St. Eligius and was first mentioned in 1122, located on the Ilgenwiese Wüstung Bremersdorf belonged.

In 1963 the Ilgenhalle was renovated, made possible by a donation from Munich's Gertrud Ilgen-Vielmetter. Her in-laws donated the “Vielmetters Ruhe” bench, which was built in 1934, near the Ilgenhalle.

Another renovation of the Ilgenhalle took place in 1982, when it was moved five meters to the west-south-west due to the planned but not completed construction of a tram; In this context, a bench and two tables were created inside the hall.
