Ilja Sergejewitsch Semikow ( Russian Илья Сергеевич Семиков in Ust-Zilma , Komi Republic ; born October 22, 1993 ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Semikow launched in March 2013 for the first time in Syktyvkar in cross-country skiing-Eastern-Europe Cup and took it to 63rd place in the sprint and the 43rd place in the skiathlon . In the same month he became Russian junior champion over 15 km classic. In the 2014/15 season he achieved his first podium finishes in the Eastern Europe Cup with third place over 30 km classic in Krasnogorsk and second place over 15 km classic in Vershina Tjoi . At the 2015 Winter Universiade in Štrbské Pleso , he achieved 21st place in the sprint and eighth place over 10 km classic. In March 2015 he finished second in the 50 km mass start race at the Russian championships. At the U23 World Championships 2016 in Rasnov , he came 24th in the sprint and 14th place over 15 km classic. He made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in January 2017 in Ulricehamn and took 13th place with the relay. The following month he ran his first individual race in the World Cup in Pyeongchang . He got his first World Cup points with the 25th place in the skiathlon. In the 2018/19 season, he achieved third place in the overall ranking of the Eastern Europe Cup with two third, second and first places. In March 2019 in Oslo he achieved his first top ten finish in the individual World Cup with fourth place in the 50 km mass start race.
