Ilse Stobrawa (born February 9, 1908 in Germany ; † 1987 , probably in the GDR ) was a German actress until 1945 and a dubbing director for DEFA after 1945 .

Live and act

Little is known about Stobrawa's origins and career. When she was not even 19, she appeared in front of the camera in some late- night silent films . Ilse Stobrawa was initially committed to problem and youth films, but until the late 1930s she played more or less good daughters from a good family as well as young, devoted wives, such as in the Nazi propaganda film Die Reiter von Deutsch-Ostafrika , one of them few leading roles. In the 1931/32 season she made her debut on stage at the age of 19 as a member of the ensemble of the Berlin theater in Klosterstrasse. There are hardly any other permanent commitments to be found.

After the war, Ilse Stobrawa largely disappeared from view. She no longer played the theater and only worked as an assistant director under Fritz Genschow in 1956 for the German youth and children's film Kalle Becomes Mayor . Instead, she entered the service of East Berlin DEFA at an early stage, where she was hired as a dubbing director, although she lived in the west of the city, in Friedenau . About one and a half dozen films are documented, mostly from communist rule (Eastern Europe and China), for which Ilse Stobrawa made the German-language GDR versions from 1950 to 1964. She also contributed the German dialogues to some of these films.
