Im Gliesch is a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxon village of Wehdel in the unified municipality of Schiffdorf in the Cuxhaven district . The nature reserve was incorporated into the " Geesteniederung " nature reserve, which was newly designated in September 2013 .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG LÜ 073 was 8.1 hectares in size. It was completely part of the FFH area "Low Geeste and Grove".
The former nature reserve is located northwest of Altluneberg in the valley of the Geeste . In the north it bordered the nature reserve “ Fleinsee / Altluneberger See ”, which has also become part of the “Geesteniederung” nature reserve , from which it is separated by the geese pond. It placed a pasture on boggy ground under protection, on which numerous stands of the cutting edge can be found. The area is extensively grazed with young cattle, in particular to prevent the clippings from being overgrown with gale shrubs .
The area has been under nature protection since March 2, 1979. The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the district of Cuxhaven.
