Imre Garaba (born July 29, 1958 in Vác , Hungary ) is a former Hungarian football player . He was a defender and especially active at Honvéd Budapest .

career

The defender Imre Garaba got the majority of his career at Honvéd Budapest under contract. He also played for a total of five years for the French club Stade Rennes and the Belgian first division club Sporting Charleroi . In 1992/93 he let his career end with Budapesti VSC .

In the Hungarian national team Garaba played from 1980 to 1991. With the national selection, he took part in the soccer world championships in 1982 and 1986 . Garaba played a total of 82 international matches, making the five most games for Hungary today behind Bozsik , Fazekas , Grosics and Puskás .
