In darkness let me dwell - Lieder aus der Finsternis (literally let me live in the darkness ) is the title of a radio play by Duo Merzouga ( Janko Hanushevsky , Eva Pöpplein) from 2016. Its production was supported by the Filmstiftung North Rhine-Westphalia and the Ocean Acoustics Working Group of the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Bremerhaven . The original broadcast took place on December 17, 2016.

100 years after Ernest Shackleton's failed endurance expedition , the AWI's research vessel Polarstern set off again for Antarctica in 2016 ; the radio play deals with the two themes and interconnects them.
