Extraction and presentation
Indium triethyl can be obtained by reacting an ethereal solution of indium (III) chloride with ethyl magnesium chloride.

Indium triethyl is a colorless, poisonous liquid that is sensitive to oxidation and hydrolysis . It is a monomer in the gaseous and dissolved state. The compound reacts with halomethanes to form diethylindium halides.
use
Indium triethyl is used to manufacture indium phosphide layers for semiconductors .
