Indorama Ventures is a Thai chemical company that mainly produces polyester . The products include PET bottles, polyester fibers and yarns, wool yarns and the polyester precursors ethylene oxide and terephthalic acid (PTA). Indorama Ventures was founded in 1994 by the Indian Aloke Lohia . He received a loan from DEG for the extraction of furfuryl alcohol from corn on the cob . Shortly afterwards, he was the first in Thailand to start producing wool yarns from Australian merino wool .
The Indorama Ventures (Oxide & Glycols) in Clear Lake City (Texas) is ethylene oxide and various glycols such as ethylene glycol ago. Indorama Ventures Europe operates a PTA plant in Rotterdam .
