The industrial railway Ludwigsburg is about two kilometers long industrial main track in Ludwigsburg West town . Responsible railway infrastructure company of the standard gauge and non-electrified rail connection is the city of Ludwigsburg, which is operated by the German railway -owned subsidiary DB Schenker Rail , the one for shunting the series V 60 starts.

Location of the route

The industrial track begins in the former Ludwigsburg freight station, a station Part of Kornwestheimer marshalling yard , that is west of Ludwigsburg passenger station . The infrastructure boundary between DB Netz and the city of Ludwigsburg corresponds exactly to the boundary between Kornwestheim and Ludwigsburg. From there, the industrial railway leads in a westerly direction in order to pass a Gleistor at the confluence of Siegesstraße and Solitudeallee and thus to reach the public street space. The track then continues through Siegesstraße, Gänsfußallee and Grönerstraße to today's end of the line at the confluence with Raiffeisenstraße. Originally the train continued about 300 meters to Schlieffenstrasse. In Siegesstraße, the industrial railway is laid out flush with the street , similar to a tram , that is, it runs on grooved rails . A side branch of the railway used to lead through Kammererstraße to the secondary connections Co-op Schwaben and WLZ .

Almost all of the once numerous sidings are now shut down or permanently out of service. In 2016, only the Lotter brothers , which are supplied with profile steel on stake wagons once a day, are regularly served . Lotter also owns another siding on the former Ludwigsburg – Markgröningen railway line .
