Information on German foreign policy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Information on German foreign policy is a " left-wing critical " Internet portal that describes itself as "remote from the state" . The website known under the name German-foreign-policy.com appears with the claim to prove the "hegemonic tactics and strategies of the united Germany".

General

The web service is published by German News Information Services GmbH from Aachen under its managing director Horst Teubert . The website names Teubert and Peer Heinelt as editors . Jörg Kronauer is responsible for the documentation . Kronauer also writes for concrete , Kronauer and Heinelt for Jungle World and Junge Welt . Karl Heinz Roth , Wolfgang Popp , Wolfgang Dreßen , Susanne Schunter-Kleemann (former member of the PDS Principles Commission) and Martin Bennhold (former professor of legal sociology at the University of Osnabrück) form the advisory board of the project, which was founded in 2002. Other authors are David X. Noack (former member of the national board of Die Linke.SDS ) and Sebastian Carlens , deputy editor-in-chief of the Junge Welt newspaper .

An analysis is published on weekdays and, at irregular intervals, additional reviews, short messages and background reports. In addition to German, messages also appear in English. In the past, translations were also made into French and Polish (can still be viewed in the archive). The portal obtains its information from "publicly accessible sources, from correspondent reports as well as the expertise of associated scientists who examine the continuum of German foreign policy in individual aspects" .

The portal's numerous interview partners include Hans-Christian Ströbele , Erich Schmidt-Eenboom , Wolfgang Nešković , Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger and Max Stadler .

The online service reports regularly on the history of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the Train of Remembrance project . The former co-editor of the online service, Hans-Rüdiger Minow , is the spokesman for the board of the "Train of Remembrance eV".

Tibet 2008

In 2008, Chinese state media reported that the German Friedrich Naumann Foundation was funding Tibetan insurgents. Here appealed Xinhua and China Radio International on www.german-foreign-policy.com . According to the online presence of the newspaper Die Welt , the Chinese media gave the impression that, according to their account, it was an “official admission from abroad”. Allegedly www.german-foreign-policy.com is an "organization financed by the German state". However, the world corrects that information on German foreign policy is a "left-critical author portal". As Jürgen Koppelin , parliamentary managing director of the FDP parliamentary group and since 1993 state chairman of the FDP in Schleswig-Holstein, wrote on his website, Wolfgang Gerhardt , chairman of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, dismissed the allegations from www.german-foreign-policy.com back. The Russian news agency RIA Novosti also reported on the article from information on German foreign policy .

Past of the Schaeffler Group

On February 2, 2009, German Foreign Policy reported on the history of the Schaeffler Group under the heading “From the origin of German wealth” . The company's history officially began in 1946. However, there were indications of a G. Schoeffler AG carpet factory in Katscher ( Kietrz in Polish ) which had been involved in the exploitation of slave labor during the Second World War. In a follow-up article the claim is made that Zyklon-B- contaminated hair was found by 40,000 people in a Schoeffler AG plant. There are indications that Schaeffler AG is identical to Schoeffler AG in Katscher and that human hair from murdered prisoners at the Auschwitz extermination camp was processed there.
