The IT system electronics technician (short for: information and telecommunication system electronics technician ) is a state-recognized training occupation that was newly regulated by the IT system electronics technician training ordinance of February 28, 2020 ( Federal Law Gazette I p. 268 ). The job description was originally introduced in 1997. The training lasts three years and takes place in the company and in the vocational school . However, purely school-based training is also possible. Training companies usually belong to the areas of industry or trade. IT system electronics technicians are qualified electricians in terms of accident prevention regulations . For this purpose, a course lasting several weeks is carried out as part of the training. This can be done both internally and externally. In particular, the dangers of electrical current according to DIN VDE 0100 are dealt with there.
IT system electronics engineers plan and install information and telecommunications technology systems, including the corresponding devices, components and networks. You install the power supply and software and commission the systems. You implement customer-specific solutions by modifying hardware and software . They analyze errors and eliminate faults.
IT system electronics technicians often work in the field at changing workplaces directly at the customer's . IT system electronics technicians work in retail as well as on electronic devices (often computers or telecommunications technology ) and eliminate errors and malfunctions in the system. IT system electronics specialists are also responsible for instruction and training.
In contrast to the job description of the IT specialist and the other IT professions, IT system electronics technicians are authorized to work on electrical systems.
This IT profession also deals with economic issues: "The company and its environment", " Business processes and operational organization " and " Market and customer relationships ". These are so-called learning fields in the respective vocational school .
Austria
In Austria there is also training to become an IT system electronics technician. The education and degree vary from educational provider to educational provider.
Specialization options are computer systems, terminals, landline networks, radio networks and security systems.
