action

The young Nina Finndal has to stay afloat as a dog sitter because her Stockholm gallery is about to go bankrupt. She doesn't want to admit that to her father, an admiral with whom she has had problems since her mother's death. While Nina is in the shower, her sister Laura calls to invite her to her father's birthday. Nina's gay roommate, the hairdresser Lasse Hellström, picks up the phone and pretends to be Nina's fiancé. Laura then invites them both, whereupon Nina actually wants to let the hoax blow up, but Lasse is convinced to use the situation for the financial advantage of her gallery.

When they arrive at their parents' house, Nina and Lasse first successfully play a happy couple and Carl Finndal also begins to get along very well with his “son-in-law”, whom he considers a successful doctor. In the meantime, Nina often meets with the neighboring farmer Jonas Jensson and both slowly fall in love with each other, but Nina does not tell anything about her "engagement" and thus becomes more and more entangled in lies. But not only she has a secret: Her father Carl, who is secretly in love with the Italian cook Antonella Vespucci, tries to prevent her from going back to Italy by secretly running a small vineyard.

At Carl's birthday party it finally comes to a big bang: When Jonas learns that Nina is “engaged”, the young woman unceremoniously reveals all the lies in front of the assembled crowd, which her father initially resented. Only later do they finally reconcile at the grave of Nina's mother. In the end, Nina and Jonas as well as Carl and Antonella get together, and after financial support from their father, things are going well again in Nina's gallery.

criticism

“The basic idea may not be particularly original, but measured against the usual icing that ZDF broadcasts on its Sunday slot, the action is lively, funny and amazingly fast-paced. That is why it is easy to overlook the fact that one has already seen the individual parts of the story many times. "

TV Spielfilm said: "Of course it works according to scheme F, but it is surprisingly moody and relaxed." Conclusion: "Sweetly light fare - a Swedish snack"

Tilmann P. Gangloff from Tittelbach.tv stated that the film “was a comical, unusually brisk romance from the 'Inga Lindström' series, with Julia Stinshoff, Dietrich Mattausch, Ralf Bauer, Heikko Deutschmann and Irm Hermann was convincingly cast. It is true that the figure constellation from the comedy set, but Sadlo plays [e] skillfully with the comedy construction ”.
