Inga and Wolf
Inga and Wolf was a German singing duo in the field of pop and chanson . It was best known in the early 1970s.
Career
Inga was called Ingrid Preuß (born August 19, 1949 as Ingrid Franke in Wittenberg ) and was a trained laboratory assistant . Her singing partner Wolf was also her husband Wolfgang Preuß (born October 5, 1949 in Berlin ) and actually a wholesale merchant .
In the late 1960s, both performed in smaller West Berlin song clubs and folk pubs such as Steve Club , Go-in , Litfaß , Danny's Pan as a singing duo. At that time, her piece What did you learn in school was heard on the radio. The television presented the artist couple in Umschau , Talentschuppen and Die Drehscheibe . In 1972 Reinhard Mey wrote the title Good Night, Friends for her under the pseudonym "Alfons Yondraschek" . The duo thus took part in the competition " Ein Lied für Edinburgh ", the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1972 , and achieved 4th place. This made Inga and Wolf known nationwide. It was also her greatest success. The song reached number 22 in the German charts and earned them a gold record .
In the following year they again took part in the German preliminary decision. In 1973 her song Write a Song reached third place. Music and text was written by Wolfgang Schulz , the “Schobert” of the duo Schobert & Black . Her second competition entry , sometimes , finished sixth.
Wolfgang Preuss also worked as a copywriter for other artists under the pseudonym Jon Athan. a. for Tony Marshall and Andrea Jürgens .
After further successes came the end, the couple divorced. Inga later married Wolfgang "Schobert" Schulz .
