Career

Lindqvist, who started for Köla AIK , made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1957/58 . After rank 29 in Oberstdorf and a disappointing 54th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he landed on rank 18 in Innsbruck , the best place on this tour. After finishing only 28th in Bischofshofen , he finished the tour in 32nd place overall.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1958 , he started in individual jumping and reached 25th place with jumps on 63.5 and 58 meters.

At the Swedish Championships in 1959, Lindqvist won his first and only national championship title.

After more than a year of international break he started again in the Four Hills Tournament 1959/60 . Lindqvist achieved fourth place on the Great Olympic Hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, just one place behind the podium and also the best individual placement of his career. But since he did not achieve any outstanding results in the other competitions, in the end he was only 30th overall with 614.1 points.

At the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , Lindqvist, now 24, was only able to achieve 29th place.

Lindqvist made his last international start at the Four Hills Tournament in 1961/62 . He started his most successful tour with rank 10 on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf. He was also able to convince on the Bergiselschanze with 13th place, before finally jumping in seventh place among the top ten in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After he reached rank 24 again on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen , he finished the tour with 832.5 points in eighth place overall.

Despite this good result, Lindqvist did not start at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1962 and ended his active career shortly afterwards.
