Ingeborg Reichelt

Ingeborg Reichelt (born May 11, 1928 in Frankfurt an der Oder ) is a German singer ( soprano ) and former professor at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf .

Life

At the age of 16, the soprano Ingeborg Reichelt won her first music competition in 1944. In 1945 she began studying music at the University of Dresden. In 1947 she graduated in singing, dance and acting from the Hamburg Music Academy. In 1950 she graduated as a singing teacher. 1953 followed the concert exam and the examination of artistic maturity as a student of Henny Wolff.

Ingeborg Reichelt has worked with the Fritz Dietrich concert management team (Frankfurt / Main) since 1955. She made an international career as an oratorio and concert singer with a wide repertoire from Bach and Handel to Haydn and Mozart, Brahms and Pfitzner, to Schönberg and Henze.

Ingeborg Reichelt made recordings for Columbia, Erato, Edition de L'Oiseau, L'Oiseau-Lyre, Cantate and others.

In 1975 Ingeborg Reichelt became professor for singing and gave master classes at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. Since 1970 she has been a jury member in singing competitions, including the VDMK, the DAAD, the International Hugo Wolf Foundation and others.

From 1959 until his death Ingeborg Herrmann-Reichelt was married to the former Wehrmacht officer and right-wing extremist lawyer Hajo Herrmann (1913-2010). The marriage had two children.
