Ingeborg Vahle-Giessler

Ingeborg Vahle-Giessler , usually called Inge Vahle , (born February 6, 1915 in Krevese , † 1989 in Darmstadt ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Ingeborg Giessler studied in the 1930s at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Wilhelm Schmurr and Paul Bindel . In 1939 she married the painter Fritz Vahle . From 1945 to 1956 she lived as a painter with him in Stendal and was closely connected to the landscape. In 1955 the couple exhibited their works in special exhibitions in Stendal, Salzwedel and Langenapel . Later both were based in Dortmund and Darmstadt.

In addition to her graphic and painterly work, she stood out in particular through the production of tapestries, for example for public buildings in Darmstadt . A five meter high textile work took place in 1973 on the VI. International Biennale in Lausanne special attention.
