Ingeborg Wendt

Ingeborg Wendt ( pseudonym : Ruth Rödern; born October 8, 1917 in Brandenburg an der Havel , † 1989 in Baden-Baden ) was a German children's book author . From 1937 she was married to the non-fiction author Herbert Wendt (1914–1979). She lived and worked in Baden-Baden for many years.

Live and act

After attending secondary school and training as a bookseller , Ingeborg Wendt worked in this profession and discovered her love for books. After her marriage in 1937 she worked as a freelance writer. Until 1947 she was the editor of an East Berlin women's magazine , then a feature editor in Baden-Baden . As a freelance writer, she has written novels and non-fiction books and worked as a journalist . From 1955 she made children's radio for the SWF ( radio play ) and book reviews.

As chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ARSP) , Ingeborg Wendt was politically very active in Baden-Baden .
