Ingo Krüger (born February 26, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player . From 1974 to 1977 and 1978/79 he played a total of 108 games in the 2nd Bundesliga (three goals) for Wacker 04 Berlin . Before that, he had already played a total of 140 regional league games with 31 goals in the Berlin Regionalliga for Spandauer SV and Wacker 04. In 1968, Krüger was part of the senior youth national team and completed 4 international matches under the coach of the time, Udo Lattek .

Junior selection and A youth national team

Ingo Krüger was deployed over 25 times in various youth teams in Berlin during his youth. In 1968 he finally made the leap to the A youth national team and completed a total of four international matches under the coach of the time, Udo Lattek. a. together with the later World Cup heroes Paul Breitner , Uli Hoeneß and Rolf Rüssmann . His greatest sporting disappointment fell during this time when, shortly before the upcoming European Junior Championship in the GDR, he sustained a serious injury in a friendly match of his A youth team, which prevented him from playing at the European Championship and thus also the safe jump into the first Bundesliga.

Higher-class career

The higher-class career of the young footballer Ingo Krüger began with his debut game in the 1968/69 season for the Red-Whites from Spandauer SV in the Berlin Regional Football League . For SSV, anchored in the old town of Spandau, he completed 110 league games in his last year at Spandau, among others, Ulrich Bechem (goalkeeper), the brothers Dieter and Jürgen Suchanek , Hans Tylinski, Joachim Wendler - in the second division at the time and scored 13 goals. For the 1973/74 round he left the team from the stadium on Neuendorfer Strasse and joined the runner-up Wacker 04 Berlin. In the last year of the regional league underpinning the Bundesliga, Wacker 04 reached the runner-up position and thus made it into the last Bundesliga promotion round in 1974. New signing Krüger had scored 18 goals in 30 league games.
