Ingrid Apelbaum Pidoux
Ingrid Apelbaum Pidoux (* 1948 in Lausanne ; resident in Villars-le-Comte ) is a Swiss diplomat . From 2000 to December 2002 she was the Swiss Ambassador to Senegal , Gambia , Mali , Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde , based in Dakar, and from December 2002 to December 2007 she was Ambassador to Luxembourg .
Career
Ingrid Apelbaum Pidoux graduated from the University of Lausanne with a degree in political science . In 1972 she joined the diplomatic service in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). First she was a stagiaire in Bern and London .
In 1974 she returned to Bern. There she initially worked for the former trade department and was then assigned to the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in Geneva . The next station was in 1980, when she was transferred to the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg as Secretary of the Embassy . In 1984 she was transferred to Tel-Aviv as the head of mission's first employee , where she was promoted to embassy counselor in 1986 . In 1990 she was employed by the Council of Europe Service (Political Department I), which she headed from 1991. From 1995 she was minister and first assistant to the head of mission in Rome .
Ingrid Apelbaum Pidoux was appointed ambassador to Senegal, Gambia, Mali, Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde, based in Dakar, by the Federal Council in 2000. From 2002 to 2007 she was the successor to Peter Friederich as Swiss Ambassador to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
