Ingrid Eckel

Ingrid Eckel (* 9 April 1944 in Nice angle , circle Jarotschin ) is a German politician of the SPD . From 1998 to 2008 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . She is married and has two kids.

education and profession

After attending primary school, Eckel attended the advanced high school for girls in Speyer . After graduating from high school, she studied German, geography and pedagogy in Mainz and Saarbrücken . After graduating, she worked as a secondary school teacher in Wolfsburg from 1977 until her election to the state parliament .

politics

Eckel has been a member of the SPD since 1972. From 1986 she was a member of the Wolfsburg City Council. 1991–96 she was 1st mayor and then until 2001 mayor of Wolfsburg. She then became the chair of the school board. She was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1998 to 2008.
