Ingrid Prignitz (born August 11, 1936 as Ingrid Kaulbach in Goldap , East Prussia , † October 22, 2007 in Rostock ) was a German publisher's editor and editor .

Life

Ingrid Prignitz grew up in a small East Masurian town and village near Rostock, where her mother and two children ended up after fleeing East Prussia in 1945. The father was killed in 1944. After studying German and history in Potsdam and Rostock, she briefly worked as a teacher. In 1961 she joined the Hinstorff Verlag in Rostock and initially worked as an editor , later as a lecturer. Until the publishing house was reprivatised in 1990, she worked as an editor in the field of contemporary literature and supervised books by Klaus Schlesinger , Jurek Becker and Christa Borchert , among others . After Kurt Batt's early death in 1975, she took his place as editor of Franz Fühmann . Until Fühmann's death in 1984, she remained his advisor and editor of his texts. Afterwards she took care of the continuation of the work edition and the publication of posthumous texts, as per Fühmann's request.
