Projects
Video portal
Since March 2013, fifteen partners of the initiative have been giving tips on studying, financing and research as well as life and starting a career in the region on the video portal Wissen.hannover.de . At the beginning of 2017, the portal comprised 550 clips. The target groups are students in the career orientation phase, freshmen, young adults with an affinity for education and the science community in the region. In the opinion of the initiators, the cooperation project is unique in Germany, as all universities and many other partners from science in a region are committed to the location together with a video portal. The portal received the Fox Award Gold 2017 for above-average efficiency performance in marketing and communication. The jury praised the video portal of the Hannover Science Initiative as an "impressive pioneering achievement and inspiring example". There is also recognition in the specialist literature on web videos in science communication. The initiative provides information about video productions and events of the partner institutions on Facebook. An editorial team from the participating institutions agrees on the thematic focus. The project is coordinated by the "Science City Hannover" organizational unit. Operational management lies with Hannoverimpuls. Hannover Internet GmbH operates the portal in the www.hannover.de portal family. The main sponsor is the Madsack media group. TVN takes over the video editing and clip production. The initiative also provides up-to-date information about studies, teaching and research on the city and region's internet portal under the domain www.science-hannover.de .
November of Science
