Inka Wesely (born May 10, 1991 in Wesel ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Wesely started her career at SV Ginderich. Via SV Brünen and SV Walbeck, she moved to SG Essen-Schönebeck in 2006, where she initially played in the U-17 team. A year later, she made the leap into the Bundesliga team and fought for a regular place. At the U-18 country cup in 2007 she was recognized as the best player and took second place with the Lower Rhine selection . With Essen-Schönebeck she reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup in 2010 . In June 2010 she signed a three-year contract with the 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam. With Turbine she became German champion in 2011 and 2012. In 2009 she tore a cruciate ligament in her left knee, and in April 2012 she suffered the same injury in her right knee. In November 2012 she tore another cruciate ligament. After the setbacks caused by injuries, she was most recently used in the club's second division reserve team. The defender ended her active career with Bundesliga club 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam in summer 2017 .
With the U-17 national team she took third place at the Nordic Cup 2007. A year later she won the U-17 European Championship and took third place with the German team at the U-17 World Championship . In 2010 Wesely won the world championship with the U-20 national team .

Private
Inka Wesely was a student at the Andreas-Vesalius-Gymnasium (AVG) in Wesel, where she graduated from high school in spring 2010. After moving to Potsdam, she completed a degree in health sports and prevention at the European Sports Academy in Brandenburg . Wesely now works for a health insurance company as a sports and health advisor.
