The European Sport Academy Land Brandenburg ( ESAB for short ) is a recognized educational institution that sees education, training and further education for sport, fitness and health as its main business area and is based in Potsdam . It is committed to the ideas and goals of European sport development. Further areas of the company are vocational training to become a state-certified sports assistant and a state-recognized educator as well as a degree at the University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management Potsdam .
Divisions
The ESAB offers opportunities for training and further education in organized sport. By participating in courses can DOSB licenses for trainers , coaches or club managers are acquired. The courses on offer range from basic and advanced training to vocational training and university studies.
Educational program

The "European Sports Academy Land Brandenburg" offers courses of the 1st and 2nd license level DOSB trainer / club manager, the 3rd license level trainer / club manager (state license LSB ), certificate training and some sports camps.

Education
With the dual study at the University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management Potsdam , the students are led to the degree of Bachelor of Arts . In the three-year, fee-based courses, basic specialist knowledge in the field of study as well as special advanced knowledge in the respective major can be acquired. The university of applied sciences and the courses offered are recognized by the state and accredited by the Science Council and FIBAA .
The dual training model of the University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management Potsdam (ESAB FH for short) offers the opportunity to complete a degree and professional training as a sports specialist . Depending on the main focus or specialization, various licenses and other sports association qualifications are also integrated into the course. The range of courses at the University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management Potsdam currently includes the courses in Sport / Applied Training Science and Management. Students of sports can choose between the study specializations " performance - and competitive sports " and " health sports and Prevention select". In the Management degree program, the sports management and health management profiles are offered.
The organization and the didactic approach of the course are essentially based on forms and methods of project learning. Based on the principle of “learning and studying on the project assignment”, operational management and planning activities as well as management processes typical of the profession are prepared, carried out and evaluated in the form of real project assignments or simulation games and case studies with practical relevance. Scientific knowledge is developed and evaluated for project work. Planning and working methods typical for the profession complement the theoretical and practical examination of job-related questions and problems. The management and control of the learning processes is carried out by the university of applied sciences in cooperation with professional practitioners, companies and institutions in the sports, leisure and health sectors.
The course is organized in the form of blended learning , i.e. in a mixture of face-to-face and online e-learning phases . For this purpose, the students have a specially set up learning platform with appropriate materials, work and communication options. This concept was originally developed to offer competitive and up-and-coming athletes, in addition to a career in high-performance sports, the opportunity to obtain a degree and a professional qualification.
Vocational training
- Training to become a fitness and health trainer including vocational training to become a state-certified sports assistant: It is a paid, two-year training course with integrated licenses and additional qualifications. ESAB offers this vocational training on the one hand at the Vocational School for Sport and Health Potsdam, with the possibility of acquiring the technical college entrance qualification , and on the other hand at the Vocational School for Sport and Social Affairs Lindow in various profiles.
- Training to become a state-approved educator: The three-year training takes place in the dual system. The future educators acquire their theoretical knowledge on two days in the vocational school and put it into practice on three days in a facility. Through the profile orientation “movement and sport” the trainees acquire sport as a competence to support the educational work.

ESAB has been a member of the European Network of Academies of Sport since 1999. In this 13 organizations from Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Sweden and Germany work closely together on European issues.

University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management Potsdam
The educational service provider of the University of Applied Sciences is the European Sports Academy. The focus of the professional activity of the graduates is the implementation of sporting movement trafficking under the perspectives of performance, health, experience and physical experience as well as the management of areas of sport and business.
Vocational School for Sport and Health Potsdam
In the vocational school for sport and health, the job description "state-certified sports assistant" is trained, with the possibility of acquiring the advanced technical college entrance qualification. The school is part of the sports system in the state of Brandenburg. The focus of the training is in the area of sports and health management, or in the area of fitness sports and management.
Vocational school for sport and social affairs in Lindow
At the vocational school for sport and social affairs, the professions of state-certified sports assistant and state-recognized educator are trained.
