AB Inkaras was a sporting goods company in the second largest city in Lithuania , Kaunas . He produced the sports shoes . The company belonged to the Lithuanian group EBSW .

history

In 1933 the Akcinė bendrovė "Inkaras" rubber factory was founded in Veršvai . In 1937 a football club was established, FK Inkaras Kaunas and later Inkaro Stadium . In Soviet Lithuania the factory became Kauno gumos dirbinių gamykla "Inkaras" . In 1977 there were 2350 employees. The company had its own cultural center. The state-owned company (Valstybinė įmonė) "Inkaras", established on November 29, 1990, was dissolved on November 19, 1992 and Akcinė bendrovė "Inkaras" (President Andrius Pauliukaitis) was registered on the same day. Several companies were set up for management. These were UAB "Inkaro holdingas" (General Director Arūnas Vilkelis) and Investicinė akcinė bendrovė "Investicinė Kauno holdingo kompanija" (Director Jolanta Barysienė). The factory bought fabrics from UAB " Šilkas ", AB " Alytaus tekstilė ", AB "Litoda" and others. In 1997 the cooperation with Adidas was planned . In 2000 there was a criminal case against the company because of the foreign loans .

The factory went bankrupt. On October 1st, 2012 "Inkaras" was disbanded. UAB "Inkaro avalynė", a trading company founded on December 9, 1994, was dissolved on August 29, 2002. After the bankruptcy , 3,000 employees were unemployed. There were hunger campaigns . The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania bought shoes for 0.5 million litas, although it used to buy no production from Inkaras. After the strikes of Inkaras employees, a state fund Garantinis fondas was set up to pay wages to employees of insolvent companies.
