Inken Schönauer

Inken Schönauer (born August 9, 1973 in Braunschweig ) is a German journalist . She heads the department "Finance" of the FAZ .

Career

After graduating from high school in 1993 at Martino-Katharineum and an exchange year at an American high school in Nashwauk , Schönauer studied political science and economic policy at the University of Münster . She also worked as a local radio reporter. In 1999 she began an internship at the Börsen-Zeitung in Frankfurt. She then worked as an editor in the corporate department for five years . From 2004, Schönauer wrote as a financial market correspondent in London for the daily newspaper Die Welt . In 2006 she returned to the Börsen-Zeitung as a correspondent in Düsseldorf . In 2014 she became editor-in-chief of the Euro Finance magazine published by the dfv media group . Since August 2019 she has headed the Finance Department at FAZ

In 2019, Schönauer was a member of the jury of the "German Journalists' Prize Economy, Stock Exchange Finances" (djp). She is a member of "The Group of 20 + 1", which annually awards the European Banker of the Year award.

Inken Schönauer is married and has two sons.
