Inna Kowalenko

Inna Kowalenko ( Russian Инна Коваленко , English transcription: Inna Kovalenko , after marriage: Инна Тихомирова Inna Tichomirowa ; born September 27, 1962 ) is a former Soviet table tennis player who became European doubles champion in 1982.

Career

Inna Kowalenko grew up in Dushanbe . In 1978 she was nominated for the European Youth Championships in Barcelona, ​​where she immediately won the title in singles and with the Soviet girls' team. In 1982 she became national Soviet champion in singles, doubles and mixed.

In the same year she took part in the European Championships in Budapest. Here she became European champion in doubles with Fliura Bulatowa . In 1984 , the double failed in the quarterfinals. At the 1983 World Cup she reached fourth place with the Soviet team.

In the ITTF world rankings , she was listed at number 30 in mid-1983. After 1984 it only appeared internationally in the senior sector. At their 14th World Championships in 2008 in Rio de Janeiro , she won the world title in the 40-49 age group .
