Institute for Integrative Gestalt Education and Pastoral Care

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Institute for Integrative Gestalt Pedagogy and Pastoral Care (IIGS) was founded in 1983 in Graz by Albert Höfer and colleagues.

Guiding principles

The institute wants to invite everyone who wants to expand their skills in pedagogical, counseling and pastoral care. " The institute orients itself in its work on the spirituality of the biblical message and promotes the study, communication, dissemination and further development of integrative gestalt education and psychagogically oriented Christian religious education , Christian life and social counseling and pastoral care " (from the statute). Ecumenism is lived and practiced from the start .

The introduction to Gestalt pedagogy takes place in two to three-year basic courses. Since the international recognition and the award of the EU trademark , Gestalt pedagogy training has also taken place at teacher training colleges . At the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia , a gestalt pedagogy course is being prepared as a European degree.

organization

The institute was founded as an association under Austrian law. The management is in the hands of a democratically elected board of directors, which is presided over by a chairperson. The previous chairmen were Albert Höfer, Hans Neuhold, Christa Horta Curbelo as well as Robert Michor and Brigitte Semmler. There are regional groups in the various Austrian federal states .

As a result of the educational activities in the FRG , “Gestalt pedagogy associations” were also founded there. There are six associations in different German federal states and regional associations. In other European countries (Luxembourg, Switzerland, Slovakia and Slovenia) such associations were founded with the same goals as the “parent institute”. The various institutes and associations are jointly organized in the "ARGE-IGS". Stanko Gerjolj from the Slovenian Gestalt Institute (DKGP) is its managing director.

IIGS Austria publishes up to five issues of a gestalt pedagogical magazine every year. Two numbers are sent to all German-speaking members (Europa booklet). Franz Feiner and Hans Neuhold take care of the editing.
