Russula subsect. Integrinae is a subsection of the genus Russula , which is within the Russulinae section. The type species is Russula integra the brown leather blotch .
features
The representatives of the subsection are fleshy and robust species that are medium to very large and that can sometimes have a hat diameter of up to 20 cm or more. The hat color is very variable, it can be almost lively to broken dark red, have more or less wine or purple-red components or be brownish and have bronze or olive tones. The meat is firm. When cut, it turns slightly yellow-brown and tastes mild. With phenol, it turns normal brown.
The spores are very thorny, prickly, warty to partially reticulate or almost burried. The cap skin contains pileocystids , which are more or less encrusted and can be stained with a sulfo-benzaldehyde reaction. The incrustation is more or less acid-proof.
Systematics
Bons subsection Integrinae largely corresponds to Romgagnesi's Integrinae section . In Singer and Sarnaris the taxon is missing, instead they define the subsection Integrae , in which the Integrinae are united with the Paludosinae . The subsection Integrae corresponds to receipts section Russulinae . Integrinae and Paludosinae are phylogenetically closely related and so this union is certainly justified. Molecular biological work shows that the Taxa Integrinae , Paludosinae and Integroidinae form a clearly defined community of descent, so Beenken suggests that the three taxa be grouped together in one section, Integroidinae.
