Russula subsect. Paludosinae is a subsection of the genus Russula , which is within the section Russulinae .

features

The representatives of the subsection have relatively large, robust fruit bodies and taste mild. The hat is reddish, orange to yellowish in color and rarely whitish or purple. The spore powder is ocher in color. The flesh is invariable or turns slightly brown or gray, but never red. The smell is neither fishy nor sweet.

The cap skin usually contains pileocystids that are more or less encrusted and the content of which is often acid-resistant. The sulfo-benzaldehyde reaction is also positive. Laticifera or dermatocystidia are at least pronounced in the cortex area of the stalk. Primordial hyphae are rarely present.

Systematics

Bon's subsection Paludosinae largely corresponds to Romgnesi's section Paludosinae , except that Bon puts the taxon together with the Integrinae in the Russulinae section , while Romagnesi classifies it together with the Laetinae and Decolorantinae sections in the subgenus Coccinula . In Singer and Sarnaris the taxon is missing, instead they define the subsection Integrae , in which the Integrinae are united with the Paludosinae . Your subsection Integrae roughly corresponds to Bons section Russulinae . Integrinae and Paludosinae are phylogenetically closely related and so this union is justified. Molecular biological work shows that the Taxa Integrinae , Paludosinae and Integroidinae form a clearly delimited community of descent, so Beenken suggests that the three taxa be grouped in one section, Integroidinae .
