Intelsat 905 is a television satellite owned by the International Telecommunications Satellite Consortium (Intelsat).
It replaces the Intelsat 603 .
The Intelsat 905 was built by Space Systems / Loral in Palo Alto , California . In addition to radio and TV broadcasts, it also offers capacities for multimedia and telecommunications services as well as corporate network services . With a launch weight of a good 4.7 tons, the satellite is equipped with 72 C-band and 22 Ku-band transponders (in equivalent 36 MHz units), which were designed and manufactured by Alcatel Alenia Space Raumfahrttechnik. The lifespan of the satellite in orbit is designed for 13 years.
