Intense Hammer Rage is an Australian gore and deathgrind band from Somerset that was formed in 1994.

history

The band was formed in 1994 and consisted of drummer Allan "AB" Byard, bassist Chris Studley, guitarist Brad "Ricey" Rice and singer Craig "Spills" Spilsbury. In 1998 the latter left the band, whereupon the members shared the vocal positions with each other. In 1999 the debut album Devogrindporngorecoreaphile was released in self- publication . In the same year the group signed a record deal with Razorback Records , about which Avagoyamugs appeared in early 2001 . A delivery of this sound carrier was confiscated because of the presentation and the lyrics, whereupon the members each had to pay a fine of 500 dollars . In early 2004, the first tour of mainland Australia followed, before the band performed together with Deeds of Flesh in June of the same year . In mid-2009 the band announced the work on a new album, in 2012 Martin Baumgartner joined as singer. The album was only released in 2014 under the name DeathChunkGoreGrind on Fresh Blood Management , before Better to Kill Than Listen to This joined Ungodly Ruins Productions the following year .

style

Brian Giffin assigned the band to the Goregrind in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal . braindeadzine.net wrote about Devogrindporngorecoreaphile that you can hear Deathgrind on it, which deals with the topic of gore , among other things . Similarities to CSSO , early Goregrind (with Intense Hammer Rage being less eccentric), Blood and Hideous Mangleus are audible. The songs would have fast and twisted, yet not very complex structures. The vocals consist of deep growls , manic screams and rotten "squeaks". It sounds like the band is using effects in their vocals, which is not the case. They also sprinkle samples from South Park and gore films like Braindead into the songs. Gory B is very similar to its predecessor in that the EP is a mixture of Gore and Deathgrind, uses deep vocals that sound as if it is amplified by effects and has unusual song structures. Avagoyamugs continue the well-known style from Gore and Deathgrind with distinctive singing.
