Sanity's Dawn is a German grindcore - band , which in 1987 was established. Band members are Topsy ( vocals ), Micha ( guitar / vocals), Prändy ( bass / vocals) and Holm ( drums ).

history

The band was formed in 1987. The first release was the LP "Looking For Sanity", which was released in 1991 on the Roxxon Records and Tapes label. Musically, the band was still in the hard rock / indie rock genre at that time and the live instrumentation included an organ with a Leslie cabinet. The band played numerous concerts in the Wunstorf cultural center "Die Wohnwelt" and in neighboring Hanover. The first release after the complete style change, which was carried out at a concert in the Hanoverian discotheque "bad", was the music cassette Preachers of Blood , which was recorded in 1993 in the Tank Records studio in Wunstorf . Musically it was a mixture of death and thrash metal . Over the next few years, Sanitys Dawn played various concerts, including with genre greats such as Kreator and The Accüsed . Two more cassette releases followed in the old band, until the line-up almost completely dissolved in 1996 .

Only drummer Holm is left. Since there was neither a new singer nor a guitarist, the new bassist Prändy also took over these two positions. The result is a Carcass- influenced Deathgrind album called "Cryptic Menu" (1997). Two months after the debut CD was released, the band was completed by guitarist Kritstopf and singer Topsy, who joined the band without any band experience.

With this line-up, the following albums "Mangled in the Meatgrinder" (1998) and "Chop Copper" (2001) were released on CD. In addition, vinyl splits with Exhumed (2000) and the Australians Fuck… I'm Dead (2001) were recorded and various concerts and tours were played in the Czech Republic , Poland , Belgium , the Netherlands , Austria, Italy and France . On the recordings up to 1999 you can still clearly hear Grindcore, while the following recordings tended towards Metalcore .

This was followed by the split CD with Fetuseaters (2002) and the split CD / LP released in 2003 with the Hamburg band Yacøpsæ , with whom the band toured Germany, France and Italy in the same year. Then guitarist Matthias was replaced by Micha. A split single with Magrudergrind (USA) was released in 2005. In April 2006 two new CDs were released: a split single with Mechanical Separation ( Canada ) and a compilation album with previous singles and a live concert. In addition, the band went on tour in the USA with Yacøpsæ, Magrudergrind and Unholy Grave at the end of May 2006 , including the Maryland Deathfest. In August 2009 guitarist Micha left the band and was replaced by Micha. In 2010 a split 7 "with Wadge was released.
