A. , between the Telfer village of Buchen and the Wildmoossee , about 4 km west of Seefeld . The building, which was controversial from a nature conservation and spatial planning point of view at the time of construction, has belonged to the Liebherr Group since it was opened in 1985 . The 5-star superior hotel has been a member of The Leading Hotels of the World since 2012 .

history

After withdrawing from the operational business of his group of companies, Hans Liebherr had the idea of building a luxury hotel on the Buchener Höhe in the mid-1970s. The construction of the hotel, which is oversized for local conditions, far away from a settlement was extremely controversial for reasons of nature conservation and spatial planning . The building permit could only be obtained through the intervention of Liebherr and Telfer Mayor Helmut Kopp with Governor Eduard Wallnöfer . The hotel was also initially fought as an unpleasant competitor by the Seefeld hoteliers.

Construction of the building began in April 1981, the complex was completed and the hotel opened in 1985. After 1988, the controversial Bilderberg Conference was held in the hotel for the second time in 2015 . The hotel was the first 5-star superior hotel in Austria.

The Interalpen Hotel in front of the Hohe Munde

The structure of the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol has the shape of a three-pointed star with a span of more than 100 m, rising from the wings with 3 to 8 floors in the center, where another penthouse-like tower floor rises. The three facades are presented in a continuous balcony position. The infrastructure is located in the partly greened, partly underground floors. The interior is now in the traditional Tyrolean country house style.

In 2002 the wellness area was renovated and in 2011 the pool area was expanded. In 2004 the restaurant was expanded and from 2007 to 2010 all 282 hotel rooms and suites and then the conference area were renovated. Major renovations took place in 2012: Salon Bellevue, Café Wien and the Smokers' Lounge were built and connected to one another by a new foyer. In 2014, the Hofburg, equipped with a cooking bar, dance floor and lounge, opened as an in-house event location . In 2016 the textile sauna was built and the Tyrolean sauna village redesigned and enlarged. A year later, the health & beauty area was renewed and the private spa was integrated. In 2017 the Interalpen-Alm opened, which is located approx. 500 m away from the hotel. In 2019, the range of rooms was expanded on the seventh floor of the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol with seven panorama suites.
