International discount card for railway staff

With the international discount card for railway staff (colloquially known as the FIP card in Germany ), certain railway employees receive reduced fares at the rail and shipping administrations within Europe specified in the validity area. "FIP" stands for Groupement pour les facilités de circulation internationales du personnel des chemins de fer ( German  The Association for the international travel benefits of the railway personnel ). The English-language FIP International Reduced Rate card is also valid for employees of British railway companies.

With this card, employees of the railway administrations listed below receive discounted tickets on the route network of the other participating railway and shipping administrations. In conjunction with an international ticket booklet, there is also the option of receiving free rides on the other route networks. The discount card and the ticket booklet must be requested from the relevant railway administration staff.
