International Music Days Hessen Main-Taunus Hofheim
Internationale Musiktage Hessen Main-Taunus Hofheim is the name of a multi-day music event with international artistic participation that takes place annually near Frankfurt am Main . It is funded by the state of Hesse , the Main-Taunus district and the city of Hofheim am Taunus , among others .
history
The music event, founded in 1983 by the German violinist and music teacher Alois Kottmann and the city of Hofheim am Taunus, sees itself entirely in the tradition of classical violin and piano playing .
Up until the opening of the Iron Curtain , the organizers of the event worked hard to establish and deepen contacts with students from Eastern European countries. The initiative that many citizens provide free accommodation at the course and event location stems from these early years.
The course participants were able to build a positive and motivating relationship with each other as well as with the citizens willing to support, which among other things has led to a high artistic level. The International Music Days Hessen Main-Taunus Hofheim were therefore able to develop a special flair to which everyone involved feels connected.
The Ensembles Collegium Instrumentale Alois Kottmann and the Kottmann Streicher regularly take part in the International Music Days Hessen Main-Taunus Hofheim .
target
The aim of the event is to teach classical violin and piano playing and to present it to the general public in two concerts, an opening concert for the teachers and a final concert for the course participants.
At the same time, the initiators have set themselves the task of bringing people from many regions inside and outside Europe together on an artistic and social level.
As part of the event, a public musicological symposium is devoted to topics that change every year on performance practice, music education and musicological issues.
Courses
The courses for violin and piano take place daily in public, so they can be attended by interested spectators. There is no age limit for course participants, but they should play at least the level of an advanced music student, be an instrument teacher or a professional musician.
Alois Kottmann is the director of the violin course at the Internationale Musiktage Hessen Main-Taunus Hofheim .
Günter Ludwig , one of the most prominent pianists of his generation, is the director of the piano course .
A chamber orchestra is available to the course participants , which gives them the opportunity to try their hand at orchestral interplay. The violin and piano concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart form a focus. The Kottmann-Streicher chamber orchestra under the direction of Boris Kottmann organizes the final concert of the International Music Days Hessen Main-Taunus Hofheim together with the course participants .
Fundraising
The Förderverein Internationale Musiktage Hessen Main-Taunus Hofheim e.V., based on a fund from Ottilie Kunz and Josef Kunz . V. contributes significantly to the event, both through the personal commitment of the members and through financial support.
Sponsorship
A number of sponsors are among the sponsors of the event, such as the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art , Volksbank Main-Taunus (Frankfurter Volksbank), the city of Hofheim am Taunus and regional companies.
