Introzzo

Introzzo is a is a fraction of the municipality of Valvarrone in the province of Lecco in the Lombardy region . Introzzo is about 25 km north of the provincial capital Lecco and 70 km northeast of the metropolis of Milan .

history

In the Middle Ages the area was called Mont'lntrozzo . This meant the whole valley, the main town of which is Introzzo to this day. However, the name Monte di Dervio has also been passed down, which is reminiscent of the name of the neighboring town of Dervio . The first road to Introzzo was built as a military road during the First World War .

The municipality of Introzzo merged with Vestreno and Tremenico on January 1, 2018 to form the new municipality of Valvarrone. This included the Lavadè and Subiale fractions . The neighboring communities were Dervio, Dorio , Sueglio and Tremenico. The community of Introzzo last had 121 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2016).
