Inveracity is a Greek technical and brutal death metal band from Athens that was formed in 1998. The group was named after the song Liege of Inveracity from the suffocation album Effigy of the Forgotten .
history
The band was formed in 1998 by drummer Vagelis Voyiantzis and guitarist Antonis. In the years that followed, the line-up was completed by the addition of the singer Dionissis and the bassist Lefteris. A first demo was recorded in 2000 and was released at the end of the year under the name Defeated Humans Raped . In addition, the band held small gigs and played at smaller festivals. In November 2001 singer Jim joined the band for a short time. During the recording of a split release with Insision , he left the band, whereupon the singer Marios joined the band. The sound carrier was released in early 2002 on Nuclear Winter Records under the name Deceased, Abandoned, Disgraced . The band had met Anastasis Valtsanis of Nuclear Winter Records at a concert before the recording, whereupon he had offered them the record deal. This was later re-released on the German label Revenge Productions . A few months later, the group signed a deal with Unmatched Brutality Records . Until the summer of 2003, the band held other gigs before finishing work on the debut album Circle of Perversion . The album was mixed and mixed by the band themselves and an employee of 5 studios . The publication took place in December 2003. After that, the band held more local appearances before the singer Marios left the line-up in the summer of 2004 and was replaced by George. In October they went on a European tour together with Godless Truth and Despondency. The tour included performances in Switzerland , France , Belgium , Germany and the Czech Republic . In early 2006 the band signed a contract with Unique Leader Records , which in early 2007 released the next album, Extermination of Millions .
style
According to Allmusic's Cosmo Lee , the band on Extermination of Millions had matured compared to their predecessor, which was mostly about gore and sexual violence. These topics are now still available, but have been displaced by the topic of “ Apocalypse ”. The group play a mix of technical and brutal death metal, comparable to the music of Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse . In the songs, the band relies on deep growls , blast beats and fast electric guitars. The instruments would be played extremely precisely.
