Insision is a Swedish death metal band from Stockholm that was formed in 1997.
history
The band was formed in 1997 from the breakup of the two Stockholm bands Embalmer and Ildoor. The following year the first demo called Meant to Suffer was released . Shortly thereafter, guitarist Roger Johansson joined the band. Through the demo, the label Heathendoom Music became aware of the band and signed them. In 1999 the EP The Dead Live On was recorded in the Necromorbus Studio and released shortly afterwards. Shortly after the release, guitarist Joonas Ahonen and singer Johan Thornberg left the band. A little later bassist Daniel Ekroth and singer Carl Birath joined the cast. This was followed by appearances together with Dark Funeral , Merciless and The Haunted .
In 2000 the demo Promo 2000 was released , which was recorded in Real Studio . After the release, other appearances followed together with Hypocrisy , Necrophobic and Merciless. In 2001 guitarist Tobias Brynedal joined the band. The group now consisted of five members and played in this form their first concert with the band Disgorge . Then the band went to the Necromorbus Studio to record a split release, on which the group Inveracity could be heard. The split-release recording was also released as a demo under the name Revelation of the Sado God . Then the band signed a contract with Wicked World, a sub-label of Earache Records . In October, the debut album Beneath the Folds of the Flesh was recorded in the Berno Studio and released in April 2002. This was followed by global appearances.
In 2004 the band went into the studio to release the album Revealed and Worshiped in July. At this time, drummer Thomas Daun and guitarist Tobias Brynedal left the band. Drummer Marcus Jonsson joined the band in the middle of the year. This was followed by a tour through Europe , as well as a few other smaller gigs and tours. After a tour with Suffocation , Disgorge and Dementor towards the end of the year, a tour of Finland with Godhate followed in 2005 . This was followed by a tour of Scandinavia with The Haunted, Marcus Jonsson was the band's new drummer.
In 2007 the next album called Ikon was released through Dental Records .
style
The band plays a very aggressive form of death metal, with the guttural vocals being extremely deep. The music is compared to other bands like Regurgitate , Deranged , Murder Squad , Murder Corporation , Vomitory , Aeon , Killaman , Birdflesh , Nasum and Jigsore Terror .
