Murder Squad is a Swedish death metal - supergroup from Stockholm , which was founded in the 1993rd Members of the band are or have been active in bands such as Carbonized , Dismember , Unanimated , Nifelheim and Entombed .

history

The band was founded in 1993 by bassist Richard Cabeza, singer Matti Kärki , guitarist Uffe Cederlund and drummer Peter Stjärnwind as a side project. Since the members were very busy with their main bands, the members met from time to time to cover old songs by Autopsy and developed some of their own songs on the side. Six songs were completed in 1996 and a few local appearances have been made so far. In 2000, the members went to Das Boot Studios in Stockholm to record their debut album Unsane, Insane and Mentally Deranged , which was released in 2001 through Pavement Music . The band later signed a contract with Threeman Records to release the 2003 album Ravenous Murderous . As a guest musician, Chris Reifert could also be heard as guitarist and singer.

style

The band plays old school death metal, with the band's pieces often being compared to the works of Autopsy.
