Iosif Rangheț (born August 7, 1904 in Olari , Arad district ; † September 1, 1952 ) was a Romanian politician of the Romanian Workers' Party PMR (Partidul Muncitoresc Român) , who was among other things a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee (ZK) between 1948 and 1952 PMR was.

Life

Rangheț worked as a worker after attending school and joined the trade union in 1920 and in 1930 the then Communist Party PCR (Partidul Comunist din România) as a member. As early as 1931 he became a member of the party committee in the Arad district and then took over the function of secretary of the Oradea party committee between 1932 and 1933 . From 1933 to 1934 he was secretary of the party committee in Cluj County and from 1934 head of the party committee in the Banat region and also in the Valea Jiului region .

He completed a period of study at the Lenin University in Moscow and in 1943 became a member of the Central Committee of the PCR, of which he was a member until October 21, 1945.

At the National Conference (Conferința Națională) , which took place from October 16 to 22, 1945, he became a member of the Central Committee of the PCR and was a member of it until his death on September 1, 1952. At the same time he was head of the Central Committee department for cadres in 1945 and held this office until 1948. In 1946 he became a member of the Chamber of Deputies (Adunarea Deputaților) and represented in this until 1948 the constituency of Timiș-Torontal . In 1948 he became a member of the Grand National Assembly (Marea Adunare Națională) and represented the constituency of Arad in this until his death .

Rangheț became a candidate for the Politburo of the Central Committee at the Sixth Party Congress of the PMR from February 21 to 23, 1948 and also held this position until his death. At the same time he was President of the State Commission for Fuels from 1949 to 1950.

Rangheț has received several awards for his services and received, among other things, the Star of the People's Republic of Romania First Class (Ordinul Steaua Republicii Populare Române) in 1948 , the Order of Defense of the Fatherland Second Class ( Apărarea Patriei ) in 1949 and the Order of Labor Second Class (Ordinul Muncii ) . After his death, the Arad lathe factory was named after him.
