Ipomoea Asarifolia is a plant type from the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is common in Brazil and possibly in Peru.
description
Ipomoea asarifolia is a hairless, prostrate-ascending morning morning glory with heart-shaped, kidney-shaped or almost circular leaves that are 2.5 to 8 cm long, slightly wider than long and veined like a hand with five to seven veins. Their petioles reach lengths of up to 2 cm.
The inflorescence stalks have a length of about 2.5 cm, the flower stalks reach a length of 1.5 to 2 cm and are often papilose and slightly rough. The prophylls are ovate-elongated and about 3 mm long. The flowers have conspicuously unevenly shaped sepals , the outer ones are egg-shaped and only half as long as the elongated egg-shaped, 12 to 14 mm long inner sepals. The crown is funnel-shaped, pinkish-purple to purple-purple in color. The stamens are flattened at the base and tomentose with purple trichomes . The flower base is fleshy.
The fruits contain black, hairless seeds .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 30.
distribution
The species is native to South and Central America. It occurs in Bermuda , Brazil , Colombia , Ecuador , Jamaica , Panama , Paraguay , Peru and Venezuela .
Systematics
Within the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ), the species is in the section Erpipomoea the subgenus eriospermum arranged.
