Ipomoea franciscana is a plant type from the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is common in Peru .

description

Ipomoea franciscana is a woody, branching, and hairless plant. The leaf blades are elongated-lanceolate, with entire margins and tapering towards the petiole , they are blunt towards the front. They are about 2.5 to 5 cm long and 4 to 6 mm wide.

The inflorescences consist of a single flower , the inflorescence stalks are about 16 mm long and very strong on the fruit. The sepals are ovate, blunt and about 6 mm long and persistent on the fruit, but withered. Nothing is known about the crown.

The fruits are two-chambered capsules that contain small, long-haired seeds .

It occurs only in northeastern Brazil.

Systematics

Within the genus of morning glories ( Ipomoea ), the species is classified in the section Eriospermum in the sub- genus of the same name Eriospermum , a more precise classification into a series has not been made.
