description

Ipomoea linosepala is an upright, perennial , herbaceous plant , strongly branched from the base , which forms a thickened, spindle-shaped, woody root as a perennial organ. The branches are up to 1.5 m long and, like the leaves, are densely haired with long, protruding, yellowish trichomes . The leaf stalks reach a length of up to 5 mm. The leaf blade is 1.5 to 5 cm long, 2.2 to 3 cm wide, egg-shaped and is more or less inversely lanceolate to inversely ovate. The leaves are short-pointed or blunt at the tip, blunt to almost pointed at the base.

The flowers stand individually in the axils of the upper leaves. The flower stalks are 5 to 15 mm long and densely decorated. The bracts are linear-awl-shaped and up to 14 mm long, they are densely hairy and stand directly below the flower. The sepals are linear-lanceolate in the lower area, upwards they become linear awl-shaped. They are up to 18 mm long and are similar to the young sprouts closely ciliate. The crown is funnel-shaped-bell-shaped, pink to creamy-white with a purple center. They are 2 to 3.5 mm long, the upper part of the central axis of the petals is hairy.

The fruits are almost spherical capsules , they contain blackish, finely hairy seeds .
