Ippazio Fracasso (by adoption of Dieter Baacke Ippazio Fracasso-Baacke ; born October 12, 1960 in Parabita , Apulia , Italy ) is an Italian-German visual artist a. Art Music Video Director.

life and work

Fracasso was born the seventh of twelve children of the Italian landowner Giuseppe Fracasso and his wife Barone Rosaria. He was interested in art as a child. From 1973 to 1976 he attended the Istituto d'Arte in Italy and at the same time did an apprenticeship in a blacksmith's shop. From 1976 to 1983 years of travel: Federal Republic of Germany , France , Denmark with various activities a. a. in the fields of decoration , video clips and in the advertising industry. 1978 Attended a private drama school in Hanover , training in classical ballet and modern dance.

In 1984 he began to work as a painter and sculptor and in 1985 his first solo exhibition took place in the Galla Gallery in Hanover . It describes the style of Concrescismo that he developed : abstraction and figuration, history, present, color and form, physicality and architecture , which he developed further in 1993 into the formal language of Concrescismo II ; Start of work on the project planned for several years: ITALIA e GERMANIA (pictures of personalities and sights of both countries as a comparative representation).

In 2012 he worked on religious sculptures for the St. Martinus Church in Olpe . In 2013, the large-format picture of San Rocco and a picture of Maria Theresia Bonzel, who was beatified in Paderborn Cathedral at the end of 2013, followed as commissioned works .

In 2019 Fracasso received the Apulian Excellence in the World award under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Puglia Region and the City of Taranto.

Works

In his early works, the artist dealt with still lifes and architectural fantasies that had surrealistic traits before he created his own style of "CONCRESCISMO" in 1991. 2002 LA COMMEDIA DELL´ARTE 13 expressive images of human characters from the world-famous Italian street theater . With his new works afterwards he builds a bridge between myth and legend , between ancient and modern. Examples of this are for Medusa , Pegasus, Oedipus , Sphinx and for modernism: Alfred Hitchcock , Marlene Dietrich , Michael Jackson , Pina Bausch , Grace Jones .

Sculptures

Fracasso-Baacke also creates sculptures made of iron painted with acrylic paint, such as several sculptures from his series "Homo globalis" or The Fire Head, The Snake, The German Eagle, Kommunikation 2000 as well as crosses, candlesticks etc. for the Catholic Church of St. Martinus in Olpe. For his adoptive father Dieter Baacke he designed a tombstone sculpture made of iron and stainless steel (The Pyramid) on the Gadderbaum cemetery in Bielefeld-Zentrum. He also created the trophy for the Dieter Baacke Prize for media projects, which is awarded annually by the Society for Media Education and Communication Culture (GMK) and the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) .
