Irénée Peyrot (* 1972 in Lyon ) is a Franco-German organist , cantor and church musician .

biography

After Irénée Peyrot graduated with first prize at the Conservatoire de Lyon and Saint-Étienne in the main subjects organ and viola, he completed his A-class church music at the Lübeck Music Academy with Martin Haselböck , also with distinction. During this time Peyrot was already an organist at the St. Jakobi Church in Lübeck .

After graduating, Peyrot began a period of intensive concert activity at home and abroad. One focus of his repertoire is the interpretation of Reger's works , especially his transcriptions of Bach's piano works.

From 2002 to 2004 Irénée Peyrot was organist and cantor at the Johannes Church in Ahrensburg . He gave up this B position to put an end to the longstanding discussions about empty church coffers. Finally, during this time, he managed to set up an Ahrensburg choir, a trombone choir and an orchestra. But as a lifetime job, it was never meant to be for Peyrot. Since February 1, 2005 he has held the position of cantor at the Marktkirche in Halle (Saale) . An A church music section was created especially for him. Here, too, Irénée Peyrot has made it her goal to further expand the currently small market choir . In addition to his work as a cantor, Peyrot has been teaching organ at the Evangelical College for Church Music in Halle since 2006 . In January 2019 he was appointed church music director.
