Marina Foïs (born January 21, 1970 in Boulogne-Billancourt , France ) is a French actress .

Life

Marina Foïs' family is of Italian descent. She started acting at the age of 16. After taking lessons, she appeared in several theater groups, including The Royal Imperial Green Rabbit Company , and was discovered in 1996 by French comedian Dominique Farrugia .

Until 2001, Foïs appeared in several skits written by Pierre-François Martin-Laval for television before starting her career in cinema. Since then she has starred in films such as Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra , When Spies Sing and 22 Bullets . For Filles perdues, cheveux gras (2002) Foïs 2003 was nominated for the French film award César as best young actress . Further César nominations followed for her leading roles in Darling (2007), Poliezei (2011), Not My Guilt (2017) and L'atelier (2018).

Marina Foïs was in a relationship with the actor Maurice Barthélemy for a few years before entering into a relationship with the French director Éric Lartigau . Two sons emerged from the community.
