action

In the 1970s, Boule, a little boy, wanted a dog. After his mother persuades his father, the family goes to an animal shelter. There Boule discovers a Cocker Spaniel . Against the father's will, Boule gets the dog, which he baptizes Bill. But Boules father wants to get rid of the dog, but he does not succeed.

One day, Boule's father gets a new job in Paris . Boule and his mother drive to Paris in the 2CV while the father drives the moving van. He tries to leave Bill behind, but Bill chases the car. Meanwhile, Boule finds a turtle on the street a few kilometers away . After his father arrives, he urges his wife and Boule to take the turtle away and notices that Bill is following him. When they are on their way to Paris, Boule gives his turtle the name Caroline. Only after they have reached the skyscraper in which their apartment is located does their father notice that Bill sat on the bumper and drove with them. But there are many problems in her apartment: the neighbors complain, Boules parents argue, the mother has to earn money with piano lessons, and Bill is in love with Caroline.

One day his mother puts Caroline with Bill. Caroline accidentally ends up in the garbage can through Bill. Boule wants to bring Caroline back. When he's in the bin for the trash, the light goes out. Boule wants to turn lights on with matches. A match falls into the container and a fire breaks out.

Boule and Bill then hide in the garbage storage room because his mother blames herself and she argues with her husband. His parents are worried and now his father is starting to draw comics with Boule and Bill. But the father is not satisfied and throws his drawings into the garbage chute. As a result, Boule and his dog discover the drawings and are touched. But suddenly the dumpster in which Bill is hiding is brought to the garbage truck by the caretaker and the storage room is locked because of the fire. Boule is locked up. Bill is taken away in the garbage truck and Boule is left behind. Boule manages to get in touch with his parents through the tube of the garbage chute. His parents free him and chase the garbage truck with their 2CV. They catch up with the garbage truck and try to make it stop, but the garbage truck suddenly turns. Boule tries to catch up with the garbage truck with his skateboard. Boule and his parents can barely save Bill at the garbage dump.

The family then moves to the country. Boule makes a new friend, Bill and Caroline enjoy their life and his father becomes a successful comic artist: He draws the stories of Boule & Bill.
