Alexandre Azaria (born September 3, 1967 in Paris , France ) is a British - French composer and musician , who is also known under the stage name Replicant .

Life

After Alexandre Azaria was employed by the French radio station Radio 7 after finishing school , he was active as a guitarist in several bands. From 1998 to 1992 he was active as lead guitarist in the French rock quintet Le Cri de la mouche and released the two albums Le Cri de la mouche (1989) and Insomnies (1991). Between 1995 and 1997 he was a guitarist in the French New Wave - rock group " Indochine " and took with them their seventh studio album Wax (1996), which he also co-produced. Because of his frequent remixes of compositions and sung songs, he chose the stage name Replicant for himself at an early age .

After Azaria first composed the film music for the French comedy A Fish Named Trouble in 1998 , Swiss filmmaker Vincent Perez noticed him and hired him for his own film Peau d'ange - Angels don't cry . Since the American film composer Stanley Clarke did not manage to compose the film music for the action film The Transporter , Azaria was hired, who then composed the last 15 minutes independently. His work convinced the producer Luc Besson so much that he was commissioned by him for other film compositions such as Fanfan der Husar , Transporter - The Mission and Transporter 3 .
