Irish Dornier

Iren Dornier (actually Irenäus Dornier) (born January 1, 1959 in Friedrichshafen ) is a German entrepreneur.

He is a grandson of the aircraft designer and Dornier-Werke founder Claude Dornier . His father Silvius Dornier , the third son of Claude Dornier, was a partner in the Dornier works until 2004, owner of various publishers and is now the founder of several charitable foundations, including a. including the Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen, which opened in July 2009 . Iren Dornier uses his legacy with success in aviation.

He grew up in Friedrichshafen . As a fashion photographer , he ran two studios in Munich and one in Madrid . At the age of 20 he acquired all pilot's licenses : flight instructor, helicopter pilot, pilot's license for commercial aircraft. After a few years of professional experience, he founded his own airline South East Asian Airlines in the Philippines in 1995 and his technology company BeDo in Uhldingen-Mühlhofen , which has also been developing and building the Dornier S-Ray 007 flying boat for the light sports category since 2005 . The idea for this came from the “world flight of young people” with his Dornier Do 24 ATT acquired in 2003 . He also has his own 4-piece watch collection , which he will soon be producing himself in his own watch manufacture in Uhldingen-Mühlhofen. In the Philippines he is currently building a tourist resort on Palawan . In 2006 he founded DOTAS (Dornier Technologie Aviation Services GmbH) in Germany, which supplies aircraft spare parts all over the world. Iren Dornier currently employs around 500 people, 30 of them in Germany.
